Volunteer

Join us in raising hope through service, mentorship, and shared commitment.

We cannot do this work alone. As the African saying reminds us, β€œit takes a whole village to raise a child.”

At the Jane Matovu Foundation, we believe that lasting transformation happens when people from different walks of life come together around a shared purpose: giving vulnerable children the opportunity to learn, grow, and build meaningful futures.

The challenges faced by many children and families in rural Uganda are complex. Poverty, school dropout, unemployment, family instability, and limited access to opportunity often reinforce one another across generations. While financial support is essential, human connection, mentorship, encouragement, knowledge-sharing, and practical skills are equally powerful.

How Volunteers Can Help

Mentoring students and young adults
Career guidance and academic encouragement
Skills training and entrepreneurship coaching
Fundraising and donor outreach
Storytelling, communications, and social media support
Community education and family empowerment training

We especially value volunteers who bring expertise together with humility, cultural sensitivity, patience, and a willingness to serve. Whether you are an educator, student, mentor, healthcare professional, entrepreneur, counsellor, agricultural practitioner, fundraiser, or communications specialist, there may be a meaningful place for you in this journey.
